Video installation — Fondation d'entreprise espace écureuil pour l'art contemporain
Born in 1965 in Lund (Sweden), he lives in New York and Oslo.
Using artificial imagery and 3D animation techniques, Sven Pählsson probes urban, social and mental realities. His visions of motorways, of suburban quarters and supermarket shelving, in simulations redolent of video games, from which he borrows the colours, textures and ergonomy, cross the unreality of the virtual with the disturbing reality of our environment. Without ambiguity, he uses his "hyper-images" to point up the dysfunctions that are the source of tension and frustration.
Several recent works by Pählsson (devices and video projections) are shown at the Fondation Espace Ecureuil.
